Shiraz J. Cupala

Biography

Shiraz has a varied startup, technology, and non-profit background. He is currently at Microsoft getting in trouble by fighting for users' wants and needs, in spite of the "plans of record". Prior to that Shiraz grew Nokia's Ovi mobile social media sharing service from 80k to 2 million users, and spent 2 1/2 years as a solutions architect and consultant. His first 10 years at Microsoft were spent driving Software and Services Design, pioneering Online Marketing and filing lots of patents. His entrepreneurial background includes growing a boutique consulting firm in Seattle, WA, founding two publishing companies in Boston, MA, and founding a non-profit in Seattle, WA, along with freelance graphic design. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Philosophy from Tufts University.
